Brief Biography

Yaping Wang

Prof. Yaping Wang, was awarded Ph.D. in physics by Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) at Central China Normal University (CCNU) in 2008. He was appointed as a Lecturer in 2008, advanced to an associate professor since 2010 and to a full professor since 2016 at the CCNU/IOPP. He was chosen to CERN as a Visiting Scholar, supported by the government (2008-2009). He was recommended to work at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) as a Postdoctoral Associate (2012-2013), became a Visiting Research Assistant Professor (2013-2014) on a collaborative project between CCNU and UIC. His main research interest is in high-energy particle and nuclear physics, especially in the physics analysis and detector R&D in the RHIC/STAR and LHC/ALICE experiments.
